AUTHOR W.C. JAMESON TO VISIT LAKESHORE LIBRARY – WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21 @ 2:30 PM
W.C. Jameson is the award-winning author of more than a hundred books. He is the bestselling treasure author in America, and his prominence as a professional fortune hunter has led to stints as a consultant for the Unsolved Mysteries television show, the Travel Channel, and the History Channel.

He loves visiting libraries and we’ll be among the first to hear about his newest book … Border Bandits / Border Raids.
In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the border between Texas and Mexico was fluid and hotly contested by citizens on both sides. Border Bandits / Border Raids is an account of the many skirmishes, battles, and conflicts between the Mexicans and the Texans during an era before checkpoints were regularized and when the idea of a border was still relatively new. Many of these events represent the beginnings of the border difficulties faced today.

Come enjoy refreshments and a visit with the author! Please call the library at 325-379-1174 to reserve your spot.

KIDSTUFF: JUNE 5, 12, 19, 26
Join us Monday afternoons from 2:00 until 3:30. Informal games, Legos, crafts, and more for summer fun and summer learning! All ages are welcome.

SUMMER READING CELEBRATION FOR ALL AGES - MUSIC FOR KIDS FROM 1 TO 100 - FRIDAY, JUNE 30 @ 2:30 P.M.
Lakeshore Library is happy to welcome Will Parker, a children’s songwriter, performer and teaching artist. Parker will sing and play all original kid-friendly songs on guitar, ukulele and harmonica. There will be audience participation that’s fun and engaging for people of all ages ... music for kids ages 1-100. An audience favorite at every show is when Parker makes up a song “on the spot” based on suggestions from the audience.

Come enjoy refreshments and a sing-along! Please call the library at 325-379-1174 to reserve your spot.

CRAFT DAY @ THE LIBRARY – WEDNESDAY, JUNE 14TH @ 2:00 P.M.
We try to let you know ahead of time what we’ll be doing at each Craft Day, but this month’s plans are still in development. Whatever we end up making will be fun! Check at the Library for updates.

TECH DAY @ THE LIBRARY – THURSDAY, JUNE 15TH @ 10:30 A.M.
What is Dropbox and What Does It Do? — Dropbox is a home for all your photos, documents, videos, and files. Anything you add to Dropbox will show up on your computers, phones and even the Dropbox website so you can access your stuff from anywhere.

LIBRARY UPDATES
OVERDRIVE EBOOK GRANT
At the Texas Library Association (TLA) conference held in San Antonio during April, it was announced that the Llano County Libraries were recipients of a Texas Book Festival Collections Enhancement Grant. The grant will be used to add eBooks to the OverDrive digital books database. OverDrive offers the largest digital library catalog of eBooks, audiobooks, streaming video and periodicals in the world.

Your libraries belong to the Central Texas Digital Consortium; however, books purchased with this grant will be limited to patrons of the Llano libraries. New eBooks will typically be available in the Kindle format (for Kindle devices or using the Kindle application), the OverDrive Read format (for reading in your browser) or the Adobe EPUB format (using the EPUB application). Check with Library Staff if you need assistance with OverDrive.

DO YOU NEED HELP WITH COMPUTERS? COMPUTER TRAINING AND ASSISTANCE
In addition to our monthly Tech Day, Lakeshore is excited to be organizing more technology learning opportunities. We will offer computer classes for all levels of learners; 30 minute one-on-one sessions; and self-paced tutorials with assistance available.

Beginning next week an interest form will be available at the circulation desk. We will use these interest forms to determine class scheduling priorities. You will also be able to review course descriptions of those classes that have been previously requested. For example: Computer Skills, Internet Browsing, Email, Cloud Storage and Windows 10 have been requested.

Additionally, we will offer you the opportunity to schedule a one-on-one session. Maybe you just want to know how to print pictures from your phone or you want to be able to create columns in a Word document. These topics are not appropriate for a classroom session but are perfect for working one-on-one.

If you have questions about these training options, you can send an email to lakeshore.techday@gmail.com.

REVISED REGISTRATION FORMS - WE NEED YOUR HELP
The Llano Library System has updated the Patron Registration Forms and all current patrons are being asked to fill out a new one. We may ask for your photo ID and also take your picture. The form and photo will be attached to account information in the library software for more efficient patron service. Once added, the paper form will be shredded and the original photo deleted. Ask any Library staff member if you have questions.

COMING SOON! - COMPUTER TRAINING AND ASSISTANCE
In addition to our monthly Tech Day, Lakeshore is excited to be organizing more technology learning opportunities. We will offer computer classes for all levels of learners; 30 minute one-on-one sessions; self-paced tutorials with assistance available. Look for opportunities to complete an interest form before the training roll-out this summer.
